About this wiki

This wiki is a knowledge base published by VELLORNE, an automation and AI company for SMEs based in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland. It is neither independent nor neutral in the journalistic sense: it is written by a company that works in the field it describes.

Who publishes this wiki

VELLORNE builds business automation and private AI systems for SMEs in Switzerland and internationally. This wiki is published under its editorial responsibility, at vellorne.com/wiki/.

We say so plainly because the opposite is common practice: content presented as a neutral resource while serving a commercial interest. Here the interest is declared. Take it into account as you read.

Why it exists

Most available content on business automation and AI falls into one of two categories: technical documentation written for developers, or commercial pages that mainly explain why you should buy.

What is missing is what sits between the two: explanations of how things work, precise enough to be useful to a manager or an IT lead who has to decide, without requiring the ability to program. That is what this wiki tries to provide.

A successful article, here, is one that lets you ask better questions of any supplier — including us.

Editorial method

A few rules we impose on ourselves, and that you may hold us to if we break them:

  • Limits are described as much as benefits. Every article has a section on what does not work, or on the cases where the described approach is not the right one.
  • No client example is invented. Scenarios are explicitly marked as illustrative. They describe what is possible, never what was supposedly delivered.
  • No performance or return-on-investment figure is put forward unless it rests on a real, citable measurement. Unsourced percentage gains are, in this field, almost always decorative.
  • No superlatives. Not "leader", not "revolutionary", not "the best solution".
  • One commercial pointer per article, at the end of the page, clearly identified as such.
  • When an answer depends on context, we say so rather than giving a general rule that is wrong for half the readers.

Sources

For anything touching law, data protection and security, we point to official sources rather than second-hand summaries:

On technical subjects we favour the primary documentation of the projects concerned. No source is cited without having been consulted.

This wiki does not constitute legal advice. For a compliance question that commits your company, speak to a lawyer.

Updates

Every article carries its publication date and its last update date. The field moves fast: an article more than a year old should be read with caution, particularly on model capabilities and on prices.

When an article is changed substantively — not a wording fix — the update date changes.

Corrections

If you spot a factual error, a misquoted source or a claim that does not hold, write to us: we correct it and update the date. A substantive correction is flagged in the article, not silently erased.

Comments go through the site's contact page.

Languages

This wiki exists in French, English and German, like the rest of the site. French is the reference language: it is where articles are written first, and where corrections land first.
